Post-Harvey Update: We're Still Here!

Dear Friends,

It's been a long and arduous week. We have weathered the storm and survived. David and I went to Mission Valley after several calls from friends and family. Our daughter and her family went to San Antonio, and our son and his family went to Harlingen.

As David and I watched the radar from midnight to 6am, we realized Harvey stayed on our location for a good 3 hours. It gave us time to consider "what ifs." We were able to return home on Sunday at lunch time, and coming through Refugio, the "what ifs" were looming larger than ever. We first saw our son and daughter-in-law's house from the road and were excited it was still there. Then we saw the winery, and we were just beyond excitement as we pulled into the gateway.

As we passed into the gate, we noticed the devastation of fences, trees, and the vineyard; but all the buildings were standing. We began inspection and realized our house was unlivable due to the roof being blown off. Our son's home had minimal water damage, the winery was intact but had water standing (not much but a little), the wine cellar had minimal water damage, the bottle shed was completely untouched, and the red shed was still intact. But our stage where we had our music was completely torn apart.

As we have begun cleanup, all I can do is praise God for what we have endured as a business and family most of all. I'm looking forward to creating a "new normalcy," a new home, and looking forward to an even greater growing business.

We look forward to serving all of you and are trying diligently to keep wines on the shelf in all locations. We thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon. The grounds will look different when you come to visit, but it will be a beautiful different, because we have weathered the storm and survived.

Continuously grateful for all things,

Regina Staggs
Owner / winemaker

PS: We will resume normal business hours Saturday, September 9 (11-6). Come see us!!

Just purchased one of your wines from a local store. I asked why they were so low on stock and they said it was because of the hurricane. I checked your website and found that I could order on line at a good price and hopefully help you through a hard time at the same time. I toured your winery once. It was right before your daughter got married because I remember her wedding being mentioned during the tour, so a number of years back.
So glad y’all will be able to continue your business. Keep up the good work and good luck going forward!

So glad you are all safe and have such a positive outlook on this. Heading to specs tomorrow to stock our pantry and will drink a glass or two as we continue to pray for recovery for the entire coastal bend, but especially our friends.
